you really overdid the explosions, i liked it better when they were drawing stuff to fight with and not just blowing up raster graphics. i just have a personal preference for more elaborate and dramatic battles. my suggestion is either diong a one on one fight, the free-for all like in mouse wars 1 or one of those things where one guy is killing an entire army. it doesn't seem like you're stealing ideas from animator vs. animation at all, this seires has a very clear difference that I can't quite place.
